A Non Governmental Organization, Good Leadership Network(GLN) whose major aim is to encourage the emergence of good leaders at every level of political positions, has deemed it necessary to educate and enlighten the public on the need to choose wisely without any bias or prejudice.
The Group said it has carried out thorough analysis and juxtaposition of the aspirants vying for House of Representatives in Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency and discovered that Dr. Desmond Ojumu has significant edge over other aspirants.
The Group asserted that representation of a particular constituency be it State or Federal goes beyond choosing anybody indiscriminately without digging deep into the antecedent of such aspirants: his /her attitudes and the way such person relates with people where he lives and works. Many have gotten the cause to rejoice over the choice made in selecting their Representatives while many are regretting the choice made. So it is important to make it clear that Good Leadership Network (GLN) will always strive to ensure citizens do not regret in the choice they make by guiding them through the selection or election process as the case may be.
GLN, through its Programme Coordinator, Dr. Biyi Ayeni has reiterated that Ijesa North Federal Constituency needs someone who everyone can vouch for and who can be sent on an errand with the hope of getting results.
Experience has shown that the present Representative of the Constituency is not representing the interest of his Constituents but rather his personal interest. The Group berates the present HOR member on how he handles the affairs of the Constituency and see it as being malicious, wicked and inhumane.
The Group pointed out that for good 18years of PDP man at the Green Chamber, the only thing he does is to come home when the election is near to dole out peanuts and cars to few leaders in order to buy their conscience.
Furthermore, the Group condemned in strong term the idea of using the Constituency money that belongs to the generality of Ijesa North Constituents to buy vehicle for some security agencies when his people are wallowing in abject poverty- this is gross misplacement of priority.
The Group has therefore called on the well meaning Constituents of Oeiade/Obokun Federal Constituency to make their stand known to the whole world that they need a change from misrepresentation to good representation. Without mincing words, Dr. Desmond Ojumu is highly recommended for the good people of Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency if truly they want to feel the impacts of the Federal Government and enjoy real dividends of democracy at fullest.
