Reno Omokri, a former Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan, says that Nigeria will be saddled with another “UK-based President” if the National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, is voted as President in 2023.

Many groups, individuals at home and the Diasporas, have continued to advocate that the ailing ex-Lagos State governor should run for president in 2023 when the tenure of the incumbent, the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari, will come to an end.

Taking to his verified Facebook wall on Saturday, Omokri shared photos of dignitaries that had paid a visit to the ex-senator in his London pad.

While the Nigerian public thinks that the politician has been ill, there is no official statement to that effect from the APC leader’s camp.

In the Reno Omokri post, pictures show Tinubu variously with the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu;  Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila; and Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, among others who had visited Tinubu at separate times in that three weeks.

Omokri, who stages protests against Buhari whenever the President is in the UK for medical check-up, warned that he won’t subject himself to such again if Tinubu is voted President in 2023.

He wrote, “The way people are trooping to London to take photos with Bola Tinubu is a warning to Nigerians that if we repeat the mistake of 2015, and vote Tinubu in as President in 2023, we will have another UK based President.

“And if that happens, I won’t do #HarassBuhariOutofLondon again. I will just say Nigeria deserves what she gets, and jejely enjoy the rest of my life traveling and relaxing.

“The fact that we are even considering a man who has been away for three months for an ailment that we do not know, and are very unlikely to know, is a sign that we have not suffered enough. We need a bit more suffering to reset our brains.”
