President Bola Tinubu has given assurance that the commencement of the student loan program is slated for January 2024.

This announcement came during the presentation of the 2024 Appropriation Bill in Abuja today, Wednesday, as the President emphasized the budget’s focus on achieving economic growth with abundant job opportunities.

Referred to as the Budget of Renewed Hope, Tinubu highlighted its commitment to addressing longstanding issues within the education sector, notably marking the initiation of the student loan program in January.

Initiating the presentation of the N27.5 trillion Appropriation Bill at 11:40 a.m., President Tinubu pledged to implement the budget starting from January 1, 2024, once it receives approval.

Ahead of President Tinubu’s arrival at the National Assembly complex, there was a notable influx of federal lawmakers in both the Senate and the House of Representatives.

Notably, Senators deviated from the usual parliamentary protocol by attending the House of Representatives plenary before the joint session for the budget presentation, causing a moment of surprise among House members.
