The Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, has said President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu is qualified and not too young to become the next Governor of Lagos State.
It would be recalled that in November 2024, the Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders (CONYL), endorsed Seyi to succeed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the next governor of the state.
The minister stated this in an interview with Seun Okinbaloye and described Seyi as his leader and mentor, saying the president’s son has the capacity to lead Lagos State.
The minister argued that Seyi is not too young to be a governor, adding that he is a well-trained young man, who has supported and elevated many young Nigerians even when his father was not the president.
Olawande said, “He is not too young to become a governor, that’s the truth. Everybody has a tendency to become whatever it is you want to become. He is a well-trained young man that has built a lot of young people, massive young people even when his father is not the president.
“He paves a way for you to grow. As the President’s son, he is not away in the United States or somewhere else enjoying himself, but he is there doing the work himself and wants to see how things can go well for the young people of this country.”
The minister, however, said the President’s son has nothing to do with the endorsement by groups campaigning for him to become Lagos governor.
“Seyi is not the one engineering the campaign to become the next governor of Lagos State,” he said.
