Nationnewslead reports that The Nigerian-Canadian Professional Group has drummed support for a businessman, Prince Segun Gboleru, for the stool of the Akirun of Ikirun in Osun State.
The group, in a statement on Thursday by its Executive Director, Michael Oloyade, said the association at its meeting on Wednesday congratulated Gboleru on his being nominated by his ruling house.
It stated that its members were ready to establish manufacturing industries in Ikirun as part of their support for Gboleru.
The statement read in part, “Prince Segun Gboleru, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Mortgage Centre, Canada, is a generous philanthropist, who always supports anything African in the Diaspora.
“We also comment on his investment drive in North America and Nigeria, which led him to establish a 100-acre farm in Ikirun to create jobs and economic opportunities for the people of Ikirun.”
The stool became vacant following the demise of Oba AbdulRauf Adedeji on February 3, 2021.
