..As Osun govt says crisis has nothing to do with #EndSARS protest.
Some angry youths earlier today invaded and shut down the Palace of the Akire of Ikire land in the state. During the invasion, the youths chased out chiefs, members of Akire Council and the Akire of Ikire, Oba Olatunde Falabi.
The invasion occurred around 10 o clock on Monday morning which left residents of the town in palpable fear.
It was gathered that the youth’s actions followed the non-implementation of the Supreme Court judgement that declared the stay of Oba Olatunde Falabi on the throne as illegal.
It was also gathered that some Ikire Thugs and hoodlums who are on the side of one of the Obas engaged and attacked the soldiers drafted to the state to maintain law and order.
A source close to the govt of Osun confirmed that the incident has nothing to do with #EndSARS protest in Osun.
The legitimacy of Oba Olatunde Falabi as the Akire has suffered legal dismissal when a Supreme Court in 2014 ordered the dismissal of the King while noting that it was not his turn to ascend the reputable throne in the state.
Following the judgement of the Apex Court, a State High Court sitting in Ikire also gave the same judgement a few months ago, taking the same position
However, while addressing Journalists, Omo Oba Remilekun Abbas the chairman of irewole local government said the situation is now under control while declaring that peace has been restored in Ikire. He added that no causality was record
