The leadership crisis rocking the leadership of the Labour Party (LP) have dovetailed into further contention between the Hon. Kennedy Ahanotu and Anslem Eragbe in a quest to ascertain their authenticity as youth leader of the party.

The duo are recognized as youth leader by the Barr. Julius Abure and Lamidi Apapa-led factions of the LP as they seek authentication in court amidst counters on the legitimate leadership of the party.

Ahanotu had in a letter dated 4th August requested the security agencies to help the youth wing led by him to identify Eragbe.

His words: “we hereby use this medium to ask the relevant security agencies to hasten investigation on the identity of Eragbe Anslem and caution him to desist forthwith from muddling the image of our great party.”

Ahanotu also urged the federal government to disregard the letters as it does not emanate from the office of the Labour Party Youth Leader led by Julius Abure.

In the disclaimer personally signed by Kennedy Ahanotu, he said “Our attention has been drawn to a letter flying around on the social media space where one entity named Eragbe Anslem, purportedly wrote the presidency and some federal government agencies in Nigeria.

“Ordinarily, we do not have issue with such disjointed letter, neither are we interested in the numerous letters being written by such dissident but for the misleading usage of the office of the National Youth Leader of the Labour Party to deceive the receivers of the letter and general public points to the need for this disclaimer.

Ahanotu maintained that Eragbe remained suspended by the National working committee of the Labour Party led by Julius Abure.

“Anyone dealing with the person of Eragbe Anslem does so at his or her own risk,” he stated.

The disclaimer is coming in the heels of a letter by the factional National Youth Leader, LP, Anslem Eragbe, to the president and several agencies of government from the office of the Youth Leader of the party in partnership with CEAGIS Properties Limited to 757,139 jobs across the country through investment of N500bn into the economy cutting across multiple sectors of the economy.

The letter reads in part: “Your Excellency, CEAGIS Properties Limited shall be able to replicate funding for the creation of this 757,000 jobs monthly till 2027 and up to 2031.

Eragbe said this is in “addition to investing in national economic infrastructures like: Ajaokuta Steel Plant, ALSCON, the Rolling Mill, Refineries, Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution Infrastructures, Toll Roads and other critical Infrastructures, etc, of the Nigerian economy during the life of your administration.”
