Two suspects, Samsudeen Oluwo aka Ese Olobo and Sunday Olabayo have been remanded at the correctional centre by the Lagos State Magistrate Court, Igbosere for conspiracy, illegal possession of firearms and attempted murder.

The remand order by Magistrate  BA Sonuga of the Igbosere Magistrate Court was a sequel to advice from the Director of Public Prosecution on  Ese Olobo and others.

The court however discharged and acquitted: Lawal Ibrahim Adefemi, Gbenga Demurin, Idowu Mujaheed and Dare Majekodunmi, who were also charged alongside the remanded suspects.

Top Lagos real estate practitioner, Saeed Mosadoluwa had some months ago accused  Ese Olobo of attempting to kill him on the order of a top real estate agent in the Lekki area of the state.

Samsudeen Oluwo AKA Ese Olobo however accused   Mosadoluwa of dehumanising and harassing him after the failed murder attempt.

The Lagos State DPP had in a letter with the reference number CB:3510/X/FHQ/ ABJ/PPRO/VOL.11/96, highlighted that there was sufficient evidence to establish a prima facie case of conspiracy and unlawful possession of firearms against Shamsudeen Oluwo and Olabayo.

The charges also included wilful damage to property and forcible possession.

The case has therefore been adjourned to January 23, 2024, for mention at the state high court.

Magistrate B A Sonuga  ruled that; “In view of the DPP’s advice  No LJP / MSC/ 2023 /279/14  dated n by 16/10/2023, the following defendants, namely: Lawal Ibrahim, Adefemi Idowu Mujaheed, Dare  Majekodunmi, and Gbenga Demorin are hereby discharged and acquitted while Shamsideen Oluwo and Sunday  Olabayo are to be remanded  in prison custody for them to be arraigned at the High Court in line with the DPP advice .”
