THE Ogbomoso Grammar School Old Students’ Association has held its 2024 annual general meeting, where its officials assessed the level of service delivery by the association.

A statement by the association, which was signed by the  trio of the National President, Mr. Tunde Alagbe, National Secretary, Alamu Christopher Adebayo, and the National Publicity Secretary, Oladejo Abodunrin,  indicated that the association has delivered on some landmark achievements, which it believed would lift the standard of the institution.

At the AGM, which was hosted by the Lagos State chapter of the association, the national president was quoted as listing the key achievements of the association since the current executive took office.

The statement quoted the president as highlighting the successes  recorded by the association since the inauguration of the current National Executive Council (NEC) in November 2022.

He said that some of the achievements include the donation of 52 desktop computers worth N5 million to the school’s ICT library, which is aims at enhancing technological literacy as well as providing a state-of-the-art learning resources for students to excel in the digital age.

He also listed the  decision to sponsor the medical treatment of Aliyah Dauda, a student, who required urgent and specialized medical care.

The statement also indicated that the association was able to fix the damaged roof of the school hall, chemistry laboratory, and other buildings, blown off by rainstorm at the cost of over N5 million.

He said that the renovations brought a sense of normalcy to the institution.

The association also said that it was able to widen its network by creating a Northern branch, to cover its operations in the  North-Central, North-East, and the North West. “By expanding our reach, we are able to serve a wider population, ensuring that our mission and resources benefit the school, its students, and the Association as a whole,” Alagbe said.

The statement also added because the association recognizes the importance of education and proper infrastructure, it has re-established the original beacons for the school land to ward off introders.

“This crucial step marks the beginning of a new chapter in our educational initiatives, setting clear boundaries and preparing  for the construction of an ultra modern alumni centre and other facilities,” the statement read adding that the association will continue to emphasise its commitment to  improving educational facilities in the institution as a way of guaranteeing the wellbeing of the future generations.
