The Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has charged all field commanders to exhibit a high level of professionalism while carrying out their statutory duties.

In a keynote address delivered at the NSCDC National Headquarters in Abuja, he emphasized that his administration would not tolerate any conduct that undermines the Corps’ ethical values and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

He stated that all formations would be closely monitored and that any violation of the rules of engagement would result in severe sanctions.

While declaring a 5-day course open, Dr. Audi explained that the training was aimed at enhancing leadership skills and strategic capability building for the participants.

The Public Relations Officer of NSCDC, Babawale Afolabi, noted that the training, which included participants from all 36 state commands and the Federal Capital Territory, attracted over 200 attendees.

Dr. Audi stressed that field commanders must maintain the highest level of professionalism and exemplary conduct while performing their assigned tasks.

He further encouraged them to demonstrate utmost civility and respect for the fundamental human rights of citizens, especially in challenging situations.

The NSCDC boss reiterated his administration’s commitment to leveraging personnel training and retraining to enhance the operatives’ ability to effectively fulfill the agency’s statutory mandate.

He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support of the NSCDC through the Minister of Interior, Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, stating that the Corps would continue to uphold federal government policies and fundamental objectives.

Earlier, the Assistant Commandant General in charge of Training and Manpower, ACG Lawal Muktar mni, urged participants to acquire essential principles of strategic thinking, situational awareness, and decision-making for their performance.

He encouraged them to actively participate in the training to effectively obtain the techniques required for discharging their duties.
