The leaders of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church Nigeria have appealed to President Bola Tinubu to implement result-oriented measures that will alleviate Nigerians from the current economic impasse, which has brought deadly hunger and hardship to the people.

The C&S leaders met at the 60th-anniversary celebration of Motailatu Church Cherubim & Seraphim Worldwide, international headquarters in Lekki, Lagos. They also called on President Tinubu to take action against corruption and reduce extravagant government spending to improve Nigeria’s declining financial status.

The General Superintendent and Supreme Head of Sacred Cherubim & Seraphim of Nigeria, as well as the head of C&S Unification Church Worldwide, Prophet (Dr) Solomon Alao, advised the president to rethink the economic policies of the country.

He noted that a new approach is needed to alleviate the current severe hardships and hunger being experienced by the Nigerian people, as the existing policies implemented by the government have failed miserably.

“I urge President Tinubu to have compassion on Nigerians and change his economic policy to a new one which can bring instant solution to resolve the increasing hardship Nigerians are passing through at the moment.

Prophet Alao charged the Federal Government to wage total war against corruption, especially among government officials as the anti-corruption agencies in the country have become toothless bulldogs that can only bark, but can’t bite.

He vehemently asked the government to start by dealing mercilessly with many Nigerian officials secretly working against the fight against corruption by their anti-corruptive words, acts, opinions, and deeds.

“Most of our people are anti-development through their contribution towards building corruption and hardship in the land. We all should play our roles properly by what we do in our private and public activities. We should build our nation by making Christ our cornerstone rather than embarking on devilish actions,” he added.

Speaking in the same vein, Prophet and Supreme Head of Motailatu C&S Church Worldwide, Elder Israel Akinadewo, who condemned the recent violent protest against the government, called on the government to see constructive criticism as building blocks upon which the country can grow and advance to greater heights by embracing some of the useful criticisms.

Prelate Akinadewo, who is also the chief host of the event, however, advised Nigerians to exercise patience with the government as he expressed the belief that the government is working towards a better Nigeria.

Baba Aladura Akinadewo, admonished Nigerians to shun hatred and condemnation of all government policies without asking questions. According to him, such negative tendencies will do more damage to the ongoing democratic process which President Tinubu and his team are working day and night to ensure it succeeds.

“I know things are very hard now, but no country can develop without challenges, this administration is going through challenges which can only be summoned by the full support and contributions of Nigerians,” he added.
