Popular media personality, singer and songwriter, Idowu Adeyemi, popularly known as Yhemolee, has advised couples to avoid checking their partner’s phones as a means to monitor for cheating.
According to him, such actions could lead to severe emotional distress or worse consequences.
In a video shared on his Instagram, Yhemolee recounted a friend’s experience where the friend’s fiancée ended up in the hospital after discovering troubling content on his phone. He emphasised that the potential reveal found on a partner’s phone could have long-lasting traumatic effects.
“My friend called me this morning and told me his fiancée is in the hospital struggling to breathe. I asked if she had any terminal illness and he said no. He said she checked his phone overnight,” Yhemolee revealed. He added, “My point is, stop checking your partner’s phone, if you die, the person that made you lose your life will move on,” he said.
Yhemolee further noted that what his friend’s fiancée found on the phone had left her traumatised, concluding, “If she went through his phone very well, she might not survive, and even if she survives, whenever she remembers what she saw, she would be traumatised.”
