The former governor of Benue, Gabriel Suswam, on Monday, was reported to have sealed off the Peoples Democratic Party secretariat in Makurdi.
Suswam was reported to have owned the building accommodating the party secretariat which he was allegedly sealed off on Monday.

But in a swift move, the immediate past governor of the state, Samuel Ortom has provided a building for the party secretariat.
The development may not be unconnected with the internal crisis rocking the party in recent times.
Recall that former governor, Gabriel Suswam and his successor, Samuel Ortom had been at loggerheads over who controls the structure of the party in the state since the party congresses started.
The battle for superiority between the two leaders led to suspension and counter suspension of the leaders before the national working committee of the party constituted caretaker committee to oversee the affairs of the party in the state.
The caretaker committee recently held peace parley with the party leaders where they resolved to sheath their sword and work together for the progress of the party.
The immediate past governor, Samuel Ortom who spoke to our correspondent on Monday on the development’ through his media aide, Terver Akase alleged that the former governor (Suswam) early hours of Monday sealed off the secretariat.
He said, “You know that it’s the former governor (Suswam) who owns that building, he sealed off the building this morning, he didn’t allow the caretaker committee to enter the office.
“As a result, the immediate past governor (Ortom) in his usual generosity has donated his building to the party.
But in a swift response, the former governor, Suswam who spoke through his media aide, Bede Bathlomew asked those raising the allegations to provide proof.
He said, “They did not evict them neither did they seal off the place, and if they have any proof they should provide it.
“The issue of eviction can not arise because the party is not even a tenant as the building was only donated to the party”.
