Zanna Gadzama, the Borno State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has issued a stern warning to party members causing unrest, emphasizing the need to uphold the party’s constitution.
He stated, “We will not tolerate mischief and propaganda in our party,” asserting that respect for the constitution is paramount.

This warning follows the suspension of the National Chairman by certain members, which Gadzama deemed illegal.
He explained that such actions are not sanctioned by the party’s rules, noting, “The two suspended members of the party do not have any constitutional rights to suspend the National Party Chairman.”
Gadzama insisted that any suspension would require a meeting of the National Working Committee to be legitimate.
He expressed concerns about the proposed leadership takeover by the national treasurer, asserting that it should instead be the deputy chairman who steps in.
“Where are the zonal deputy national chairmen in six zones? Constitutionally, if the chairman is suspended, his deputy should take over, not the treasurer of the party,” he clarified.
He challenged the suspended members, stating, “And they think they will force the treasurer to take over? Let them swear him in. He cannot parade himself as chairman.”
Regarding the suspension of the party’s secretary and legal advisor, Gadzama pointed out that these actions were taken by the National Working Committee, indicating that there is an established procedure for such decisions.
In a call for unity among party members, Gadzama urged the PDP to reconcile and avoid escalating internal conflicts, highlighting the suffering of Nigerians under the current administration.
“Nigerians are experiencing the most difficult time they have never seen before – the hike in petrol prices, inflation of food and essential items; everything is becoming awful in this country,” he lamented.
He appealed to PDP supporters, members, and stakeholders for patience and unity, asserting that the PDP represents the last hope for Nigerians in the upcoming election.

“We are calling on our party supporters, members, and stakeholders to be patient and continue to struggle to free Nigerians from the hands of the APC,” he said.
Gadzama cautioned against the influence of money in politics, urging citizens to vote for credible candidates who prioritize the nation’s well-being. “Nigerians should learn from their mistakes and not involve themselves in politics of money, where politicians give them indomie, rice, N5,000 to vote for them,” he advised.
He stressed that the solution to Nigeria’s suffering lies in electing leaders who genuinely care for the people, rather than those motivated by material gain.
In closing, Gadzama painted a grim picture of the current state of Nigeria, noting, “Nigeria is disintegrating; youths are without employment; poverty is becoming the order of the day. Everyone is suffering.”
