Former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo is expected to pay a one-day working visit to Bauchi state on Sunday.
According to a statement by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado, Obasanjo, during the visit, will commission a few completed projects across the state.
The statement, made available to Journalists in Bauchi on Saturday reads: “His Excellency, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, on behalf of his family, government and the good people of Bauchi State welcomes His Excellency, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, former President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, to Bauchi State for a one day official visit, on Sunday 20th October,2024.
“During the visit, Obasanjo would commission two (2) major road projects executed by the Bala Mohammed led administration under his urban and rural renewal projects.
“The two major roads projects to be commissioned by the former president are : The completed Dualization of 17.7KM Kano road to Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport Bauchi and the 30KM Gubi Gari, Ruda Bida , Siyi to Nasarawa road connecting two local Government areas of Bauchi and Ganjuwa.
“The roads infrastructural developments aimed at boosting the socio-economic activities of Bauchi State, are a testament to the Governor’s unwavering commitment to the progress and well-being of the people.
“Governor Bala Mohammed has demonstrated exemplary leadership through numerous developmental projects, which have transformed the landscape of the state and improved the standard of living of its citizens.”
The construction of these roads is part of the larger vision of ensuring that Bauchi State remains a hub of development, investment, and growth in Northern Nigeria.
“The visit of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo underscores the importance of these achievements and serves as a morale booster to the administration’s efforts to build a better future for Bauchi.
“His presence in Bauchi State is a reflection of the mutual respect and shared commitment to nation-building between past and present leadership.
