Former Caretaker Chairman of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Dr Adekunle Akindele, has admonished the Ondo state electorate to defend their votes during the Saturday, November 16, 2024, governorship election in the state.

Akindele also charged the people to replicate their support for the PDP candidate, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, as they did in Osun State for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s election.

He urged the people to remain resolute to effect the positive change by voting out the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state over the economic hardship being experienced by Nigerians.

Speaking in Okitipupa on Sunday, when hosting members of the party in Ilutitun, the PDP leader said, “They cannot come and steal your vote in Ondo, so protect your vote, defend your vote, and make sure the right figures are declared.

“The entire state is prepped to vote for our candidate, Agboola Ajayi because they know he is capable of leading the state back to the right path.

“We all understand the poverty and hardship in the land, and we need a positive change to defeat this hunger and those who brought hunger to the land. Agboola Ajayi is capable of changing the narratives.

“But be prepared to defend your votes. The minority cannot intimidate the majority. victory is certain.

“Escort your votes and make sure they are announced, and if you do that, no one can change your votes, and you are winning come November 16.

“I have provided logistics towards the election in each of the three wards, and the leaders have also been mobilised. Be rest assured, whatever is needed for this final run will be provided by us. We will support this move for a better Ondo State.

He charged the people to be resolute and not succumb to intimidation, adding, “We will tell them we know how to win elections, and no one will rig us out.”

He noted that Governor Aiyedatiwa has done his best for the state but said his best was never enough to rank the state among the best in the country.

He maintained that the PDP remains a party to beat in any election while the candidate is the best to lead the state at the particular period, calling for support for Agboola Ajayi.
