The Vice Chancellor of the University of Cross River (UNICROSS), Professor David Abua, has warned new students that they will face disciplinary action for any anti-social behavior that tarnishes the university’s reputation.

He emphasized that students engaging in such behavior will be expelled.

The VC also cautioned freshers against joining groups that could hinder their potential, asserting that he will not allow the institution’s image to suffer.

This warning was issued during the university’s 23rd matriculation ceremony, held yesterday at the UNICROSS main campus in Calabar.

He specifically mentioned that freshers involved in activities such as cultism and exam malpractice could face serious consequences.

Abua urged the new students to create a study schedule to thoroughly prepare for their semester exams if they aspire to graduate successfully. “I encourage you to cultivate your hearts and minds and start working hard from the outset of the semester. The next four or five years will be a crucial period in your lives, so avoid any distractions that could derail your objectives.”
