Ebonyi Governor Francis Nwifuru has described the Member Representing Ohaozara Onicha and Ivo Federal Constituency, Hon. Nkemkanma Kama, as a beckon of peace and a prayer answered to the State.

Nwifuru disclosed this during the lawmaker’s 2024 end-of-the-year Interdenominational Thanksgiving and Empowerment Programme for the constituency at Girls Secondary School, Ishiagu.

According to Nwifuru, the lawmaker is a great transformer and humble leader who never minded his financial status while discharging his legislative duties in the National Assembly.

The governor however commended Kama, for distributing thousands of empowerment items to his constituents and other various people-oriented activities.

He said: “Kama is a great transformer and a humble leader who never cared about his financial status even when he was working as a federal lawmaker. He is giving out countless empowerment items to his constituents today.

“People are asking me whether Kama is joining my party (APC) today, but I am not after the party now.

“I am here because was invited as the governor of the state, and that is what is called governance. As you are sending the empowerment items to the wards, let it go to my party.”

He then advised Kama to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) which he described as a moving train before the electioneering time.

He equally eulogised the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation and ex-President of Nigeria Senate, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, and Minister of Works, Senator David Umah, for their contributions towards promoting good governance in the state and urged steady support to the Ebonyi elder statesmen.

In his address, Mr Kama said the distribution of empowerment items to his constituents, was designed to support them in their various endeavours, whether it be in local transportation, commerce, or personal development.

He said the items included tricycles (Keke Napep), motorcycles, grinding machines, sewing machines, hair dryers, make-up boxes, barber kits, knapsacks (sprayers), and many others.

Kama noted that in the selection of the beneficiaries of the empowerment items, as consistent with their constituency representation and in keeping with the detribalized governance approach of the state governor, he ensured inclusivity, fairness, and proper spread, irrespective of political party, religion or other differences.

The lawmaker also disclosed that he was able to sponsor 11 bills and move 18 motions in the house, with other interventions rendered to his constituents while addressing their plights in his office.
