Senator Oyewumi commissions reconstructed modern educational facility in Osun

The Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, Senator Lere Oyewumi at the weekend commissioned a newly reconstructed educational facility consisting of six blocks of 18 classrooms, a library, halls, a laboratory, staff rooms, a principal’s office, and a motorised borehole, with the assurance that, he would do all his best to make education, a pacesetting in OSUN West senatorial district.

Speaking at the commissioning of the projects held at St. David Anglican Grammar School, Ode Omu, the distinguished Senator, described education as a key to success, which should not be handled with levity.

“The gesture was aimed at creating a conducive learning environment in public schools. He noted that the facilities were built to high standards for the benefit of young learners in rural communities.

Oyewumi who said that similar facilities had been provided at Community High School, Odeyinka, assured that no effort would be spared in improving the academic environment in public schools within his Senatorial District.

He, therefore, pledged to encourage and improve the lives and welfare of people in his constituency, through the provision of quality education and other facilities that could facilitate studies and learning.

Senator Oyewumi who affirmed that, he would not relent in upholding the three domains in the field of education which are, psychomotor, cognitive and affective, to ensure key knowledge is imparted to students, charged students and parents to also cooperate with him, to make his educational programmes for all and sundry becomes a virile one.

However, in a statement by the Head of the Senator’s media team, Timileyin Popoola, the Senate minority leader maintained further that, ‘Education is the key to unlocking a brighter future for our children arguing that, his project ” is a testament to our commitment to providing quality education for the children of Ode Omu and the entire district. We believe that by investing in education, we are investing in the future of our nation.’”

He said, “We all need to join the government in funding education by investing in facilities in public schools. The government must do more, and the current administration in Osun is making significant efforts to improve all sectors.”

Additionally, there was construction and rehabilitation of classrooms, a borehole, toilets, and a generator at Community High School, Odeyinka, Ikire, in Irewole Local Government, a project facilitated by Senator Lere Oyewumi.

In their comments, the Principals of St. David Anglican Grammar School, Ode Omu, and Community High School, Odeyinka, Ikire, expressed their gratitude to Senator Oyewumi for his generous contribution to the schools.

According to them, the new facilities would greatly enhance the learning experience for students and provide them with access to modern educational resources.

“We are deeply grateful to Senator Oyewumi for his support. This new facility will provide our students with a conducive learning environment and access to modern resources that will help them excel academically,” the Principals said.

Osun PDP Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi, in his address during the commissioning ceremony, emphasized the importance of education as a cornerstone for individual and societal development. He stated that the project was part of Senator Lere Oyewumi’s commitment to providing quality education for the children of his district. He also highlighted the importance of providing modern and conducive learning environments for students.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by Yeye Akogun Omolara Oyewumi, the Deputy Governor of Osun State, Prince Kola Adewusi, Osun State PDP Chairman Hon. Sunday Bisi, and Osun State University (UNIOSUN) Governing Board Chairman and Former National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Professor Abiodun Wale Oladipo, Students, teachers, parents, community leaders, the Osun State PDP Working Committee, Hon. Adesoye Oyetunde, Osun West Senatorial Chairman, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy, Barrister Dosu Babatunde, House of Assembly, Irewole/Isokan State Constituency, Hon. Biola Ibrahim Inaolajiband and Commissioner for Energy, Hon. Festus Ademola Adeyemo.

Others were, Hon. Lukman Mudashiru L & K, Hon. Oladebo, Commissioner for Land, Hon. George Alabi, Hon. Commissioner for Tourism, Hon. Fafa Abiodun, Oluomo Oladoyin Abiodun, SSA to the Governor of Osun State on Federal Matters, and other dignitaries.
