The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) regrets to announce a tragic road accident that occurred this morning near the Secretariat, inward Otedola Bridge, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
In a press release, on Wednesday 8 January, the public affairs and enlightenment department, Mr Adebayo Taofiq, announced this on its official X account.

The incident involved a mini bus, also known as “Korope,” which collided with a long truck due to brake failure caused by excessive speeding. The force of the crash trapped the driver of the mini bus inside the wreckage. However, LASTMA Officers acted quickly, rescuing the other passengers, all of whom were unharmed.
In collaboration with LASAMBUS personnel and FRSC officials, LASTMA Officers worked tirelessly to free the trapped driver. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, the driver was found dead. His remains were handed over to the FRSC by LASTMA personnel.
