The management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, Ogun State, has ordered the indefinite closure of the institution in response to planned protests by some students over result verification issues.
It was gathered that students who obtained their National Diploma from other institutions have been facing challenges verifying their results, resulting in delays in releasing their academic records.
The situation has caused widespread frustration, leading to calls for demonstrations.
In a statement on Monday, the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Yemi Ajibola, confirmed the closure, emphasizing the need to prioritize safety.
“The Polytechnic has been closed effective Monday, January 13, 2025, until further notice to safeguard lives and property.
