The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Chairman of the National Sugar Development Council, Dr. Ajibola Basiru, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Chief Kayode Esuleke, a prominent leader of the APC in Osogbo.
Chief Kayode Idowu Esuleke, who held the title of Baale Esu of Osogbo and hailed from Ward 15, Osogbo Local Government, was a respected figure within the party and the community.

In a heartfelt message, Dr. Basiru described Chief Esuleke’s demise as shocking and a significant loss to the APC. “Baba’s death has left us in a daze. We had no inkling he would leave us so soon. He was a pivotal figure in our party, not just in Osogbo Local Government but across Osogbo as a whole,” he said.
Reflecting on the timing of the loss, Dr. Basiru lamented, “It’s sad that Baba passed on at a time when the APC is gaining renewed strength across the state in preparation for next year’s governorship election.”
Chief Esuleke, who served as the Chairman of the Osogbo APC Elders Council, was also an adherent of traditional religion and a staunch advocate for unity and progress within the party.
His contributions to the growth and stability of the APC in Osogbo will be fondly remembered, and his absence deeply felt by party members and the community at large.
