Kaduna State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to stop making reckless allegations, particularly regarding the alleged assassination attempt on Senator Lawal Adamu Usman.
The APC described the PDP’s accusations as “unfounded,” “false,” and “absurd,” and advised the PDP to act as a constructive opposition party.
The APC’s statement was in response to the PDP’s claims that the APC was complicit in the alleged assassination attempt.
However, the Kaduna Police Command revealed that Senator Usman had not filed a formal complaint nor cooperated with ongoing investigations, despite repeated attempts by the police to reach him.
The APC is calling on Senator Usman and the PDP to cooperate fully with the police investigation, warning that failure to do so would suggest that the alleged assassination attempt was fabricated to malign the APC and create unnecessary tension.
The ruling party also criticised the PDP for its “troubling reputation” of issuing false statements, which undermines public discourse.
The APC assured that efforts to disrupt the government will not succeed and that Kaduna remains on a path of growth and stability.
‘’Failure to do so would lend credence to suspicions that the alleged assassination attempt is nothing more than a fabrication aimed at maligning the APC, creating unnecessary tension, and derailing the peace and progress currently enjoyed in Kaduna.
‘’The APC strongly suspects that certain conflict entrepreneurs are using the PDP to disrupt the remarkable strides achieved under the peace initiatives of Senator Uba Sani’s people-focused and inclusive administration,’’ the statement added.
