The Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN) has effected some changes in the leadership of their association.
At the just-concluded Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Owerri, the association removed Chief Mrs. Adunni Udu as Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) and replaced her with Mrs. Grace Eronini from Imo Specialist Hospital.
In a statement issued in Owerri over the weekend by the President, Dr Casmire Ifeanyi, he disclosed that the removal of the former BOT Chairman, Mrs Udu, followed a motion moved by Fewedu Ibrahim and seconded by Dr Brendan Mamah.
The AMLSN, during their 60th AGM, pursuant to Article 6(d) of the AMLSN Constitution 2018 (as amended), also passed a resolution that suspended Dr Uche Odionyenma as a member of the association for various constitutional breaches.
The association passed another resolution suspending the use and operation of an illegally opened FCMB account, Number 200464370, opened by Dr. Uche Odionyenma and his cohorts.
According to the AGM, the FCMB account is fictitious and apparently opened for fraudulent activities.
The association held that it was opened in violation of the provisions of Schedule 3(b) of AMLSN Administrative and Operational Guidelines 2018 and AMLSN Constitution 2018 (as amended).
The AGM, however, issued a disclaimer on the purported conference allegedly being planned by Dr Uche Odionyenma, who has been restrained by the Federal High Court Kano from parading himself as President of AMLSN.
The leadership of AMLSN, however, advised both members and the general public, including the Government of Abia State, not to have anything to do with either Dr Uche Odionyenma on behalf of AMLSN or the said conference.
