As part of events marking the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, Bauchi State Governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed, joined the Muslim ummah to observe Jumma’at prayers at the Nigerian Air Force Base Central Mosque in Bauchi.
The Jumma’at prayer was attended by members of other military and paramilitary outfits in the state, as well as Muslims living around the base along the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport road.
In his khutbah, the Imam of the Jumma’at Mosque, Wing Commander Abubakar Ladan, charged Nigerians to find ways to contribute to the growth and development of the country, no matter how small.
He stressed that the growth and development of the country should be seen as everyone’s responsibility.
The Islamic cleric spoke extensively about the roles played by the country’s fallen heroes, who gave their lives to ensure Nigeria remains one indivisible nation.

He further urged officers and men of various security forces, as well as Nigerians in general, to remain patriotic for the rapid socio-economic development of the country.
Bala Mohammed, represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Aminu Hammayo, said the contributions of Nigeria’s fallen heroes to the growth and development of the country cannot be forgotten, as they laid the foundation for what Nigeria is today.
He called on the government, corporate bodies, and public-spirited individuals to continue supporting the families of fallen heroes for sustainable growth and development.
During the Jumma’at prayer, special prayers were led for the repose of the souls of all Nigerian fallen heroes.
