A political pressure group known as Concern Citizens Forum has threatened to recall the Senator representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, Shehu Buba Umar over failure to deliver on his campaign promises.
The group disclosed this during a press conference held on Sunday, issuing a stern warning to the Senator to retrace his political footprint and correct the process in line with his pre-election campaign promises.
The forum, which comprises members from all seven local government areas of Bauchi South gave the senator one week to correct his mistakes or it will mobilise its members and other constituents to proceed with the recall process.
According to Nasiru Saidu Hardo, who read the press statement, “Senator Shehu Buba has failed to deliver at the green chamber, despite his promises during the electioneering campaign.
“Senator Shehu Buba has failed to provide effective representation to the people of Bauchi South.
“He has not initiated any meaningful project or program to benefit our people. We are giving him a last chance to correct his mistakes, failing which we will proceed with the recall process.”
The Forum has also vowed to take the grievances of the members to the electoral bodies, ensuring that the Senator was held accountable for his actions.
“We will not hesitate to take our complaints to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other relevant authorities.
“We demand that Senator Shehu Buba provides effective representation to our people, or face the consequences.”
