The Benue State High Court, sitting in Makurdi on Wednesday, has restrained the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from removing any members of the Benue State Working Committee.

The court’s order prohibits the APC from replacing or suspending members of the Benue State Working Committee, led by Comrade Augustine Agada, or interfering with their four-year tenure, pending the determination of the Motion on Notice.

The relief sought includes an “Order of Interim Injunction” restraining the APC—whether by itself, its privies, assigns, staff, officers, servants, agents, representatives, or anyone else—from removing, changing, replacing, or otherwise terminating the tenure of the applicants and other members of the Benue State Working Committee until the expiration of their four-year terms in office, pending the resolution of the motion on notice.

The State Legal Adviser of the Party, Alyebo Matthew, represented the nine applicants led by Austin Agada.

Justice Igoche granted the interim injunction and adjourned the case to August 28, 2024, for the hearing of the motion on notice.
