THE Chief Missioner of Oju-Ona Satia Organisation Worldwide, Offa, Kwara State, Khalifa AbdulGafar Babalola, has charged Nigerians to redefine their existence on earth in relation to the commandments of God.
Babalola gave this charge on Tuesday at the headquarters of the organisation at Ile Shehu, Offa, while addressing members of the organisation during the celebration of ‘Karamallah Day’, an event held every June 18 to commemorate the birth of the founder of the organisation, Sheikh Rasheed Karamalla.
Khalifa Babalola said that human beings are created to serve God, but events all over the world indicate that they have abandoned this obligation in pursuit of things that don’t really matter.
“We celebrate possessions, successes and achievements, and doing so is not bad at all. But we need to look inward and think about what we are created for, and our relevance in relation to the laid down covenant.
“It’s not the number of years we spend on earth that really matters, but it is the minutes and seconds spent to serve God out of those years that will define our destination in the hereafter, because whether you believe it or not, there is heaven, just like there is hell too,” he said.
The Islamic scholar encouraged people to always be thankful to God, do away with vengeance and take their dreams seriously.
“Some people are healthy and they don’t lack anything, but they are, in one way or the other, unhappy due to certain challenges that may be disturbing their minds and denying them comfortability.
“When you serve God as it is laid down in the holy books, the doors of opportunity will always be wide open, irrespective of general hindrances,” Babalola said.
He stressed that most of the difficulties faced by human beings on earth are self-inflicted and called for vigilance on the part of everyone so as not to miss one’s lot on earth.
The one-hour session was rounded off with prayers and praises.
