Special Adviser to the Governor of Delta State on Trade and Export, Mrs. Shimite Winifred Bello, has been confirmed dead.
It was gathered that the renowned Trade and Economic expert allegedly died as a result of domestic violence on Monday.
In Facebook post shared by Hon. Oge Okonkwo, disclosed that Shimite’s husband has been arrested for her death.

He wrote: “When I heard of their usual fights. I wonder why she remained in the abusive marriage .
“No matter where he takes her to or the prayers for favours and powers which are mostly manipulative.
“Her life and safety should have come first to her. From praying for her as pastor/prophet to husband .
“So so sad how we lost Ugo fulu Eagle Light Shimite.

Confirming the horrible report in a statement on Monday, Spokesman for Delta State Police Command, Bright Edafe, said that security agents have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Mrs. Shimite.
Edafe emphasised that the husband is in protective custody and not under arrest.
He said: “He (the husband) was the one who called to report that his wife died early this morning and that he was receiving threats from her family, who feared he might be attacked.
“It was on this basis that we went to his house and brought him in for his own safety.
“The deceased’s family later lodged a formal complaint with the police. We’re currently investigating.
“In situations like this, only an autopsy can determine whether the death was natural or due to other causes.”
