Peter Okoye, one-half of the Nigerian musical duo PSquare, has revealed that the group’s split was largely influenced by the behavior of their fans.

During an appearance on the AYLIVE show on Sunday, Peter explained that the continuous comparisons between him and his twin brother, Paul, fueled growing tensions and egos within the group.

He pointed out that fans’ tendency to favour one brother over the other caused further friction, ultimately leading to their breakup.

“Fans are the reasons PSquare no dey together today. Two brothers dey do one thing, ona dey talk say one better pass one, e con enter one head, he begin misbehave. If ona like make ona dey go house, I no send una,” Peter shared.

PSquare, formed by the Okoye twins, gained prominence in 1997 with hit songs like “E No Easy,” “Bizzy Body,” and “Personally.” The duo became known for their energetic performances and catchy Afrobeats, earning widespread success across Africa.

However, after years of internal disputes and highly publicized feuds, PSquare officially disbanded in 2017. The group had been managed by their older brother, Jude Okoye, who also held a major stake in their label, PClassic.

Tensions over finances, management, and creative differences led to a significant strain on their relationship.
