Nationnewslead reports that In its efforts to engage stakeholders operating in mining and exploration in Ijesaland, the Ijesa Mineral Resources Development Forum (IMRDF) is billed to take the campaign for safe, secure and environmentally-friendly and sustainable mining in Ijesaland to the Osun State House of Assembly.
The development is coming on the heels of noticeable threats to life and land despoliation in the area.
The effort is a culmination of series of advocacy programmes embarked on by the forum.
The group had met with the state government through the Chief of Staff, Dr. Charles Akinola, political and community leaders across Ijesaland on the need to evolve a developmental framework for mining and stave off associated dangers to health and environment.
The proposed meeting, which has received the blessing of the House leadership, will afford a mutually beneficial approach to mining in the state.
