OSUN State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on Monday handed over five operational vehicles to the newly elected state Community Development Council executives, urging them to use the vehicles to secure government properties in their neighborhoods.
The governor made this appeal at the inauguration of the development council and the distribution of the five operational vehicles at the State Government House in Osogbo.

Senator Adeleke also encouraged the community development council to continue partnering with the government on matters related to securing government properties in their neighborhoods.
He further charged the new community leaders to harness their diverse wealth of experiences to make remarkable contributions toward improving the socio-economic lives of the people at the grassroots level.
The governor, however, maintained that “Our government will continue to partner with relevant stakeholders like you, who are ready to key into our various developmental agendas as contained in our administration’s 5-point Agenda.”

According to him, “As the government is delivering on its electoral mandate, we would be glad to continue receiving your unwavering cooperation and support. I therefore use this medium to assure the good people of Osun State that no stone will be left unturned in striving to make lives more meaningful for them.”
“This government is a product of the popular will of our people,” he asserted, adding that “democracy is a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.”
“I am in this governorship seat by God and the people. The people are the sovereign authority in any electoral politics; they elect their leaders. Democracy is strengthened when the will of the people prevails.
“The leader must, therefore, hold tight to the people. That is why our administration will not renege on our commitment to bettering the lives of the people of Osun State.
“In less than two years since assuming office, we have made remarkable achievements in various sectors, including infrastructure, health, agriculture, education, social welfare, and rural development.
“We have earned the trust of the people and consolidated our partnership of trust and commitment to them.
“We are here to deliver good governance, and we are doing just that with all sense of responsibility. The foundation of our support is God and the people.
“We must remain strongly supportive of sustainable electoral practices that place the will of the people at the heart of electoral politics.”
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Rural Development, Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa, commended the governor for his relentless support for grassroots development in the state.
He remarked, “We appreciate the state governor for purchasing operational vehicles for community development councils. We particularly acknowledge the strong performance of Mr. Governor in rural projects and programs.”
Additionally, the newly inaugurated Chairman of the Community Development Council, Alhaji Agbajelola Salam, reiterated the unwavering support and commitment of all members of the Executive Committee of the Osun State Community Development Council, stating, “We are ready to align with the developmental agenda of the state governor.”
“In our efforts to do this, we will encourage all members, including non-members of the Community Development Associations across the state, to engage in intra-community social interactions and active community participation to spread the positive vision of the current government regarding developmental programs and infrastructure improvements, which are already reaching both urban and rural communities.”
“Facilities such as road construction, flyover bridges, electrification projects, the construction of classrooms, and the provision of healthcare services, including the purchase of tractors for large-scale food production, are just a few of the numerous achievements of the government in its social contract with the people of Osun State.”
“Moreover, in the quest to provide a robust security network to ensure Osun State becomes a peaceful environment that attracts local and foreign investors, as demonstrated during the recently concluded 5-day 2024 Osun State Investment Summit held at the Uniosun Campus in Osogbo, this government has made significant progress.”
“With these laudable achievements, this newly inaugurated Community Development Council promises to carry out all policy decisions of the government on developmental programs and activities with zeal and passion to ensure the delivery of the dividends of democracy across the state.”
