Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, has launched 170 Micro Projects under the Nigeria Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (NG CARES) program, with around 200,000 beneficiaries spread across the state.

The Governor, represented by the General Manager of Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency (KCSDA), Mallam Dauda Momoh, made this announcement during the training of Community and Group Project Management Committees in Okene on Monday.

He emphasized that all the projects are designed to directly impact the lives of the people.

Mallam Dauda Momoh expressed gratitude to the Governor for funding the program and assured rural communities of extensive development projects aimed at reducing poverty, combating hunger, and promoting self-reliance.

Governor Ododo reaffirmed his commitment to prioritizing the welfare and development of the people, assuring them that more positive changes are on the way.

In his remarks, the General Manager stated that Governor Ododo’s administration is determined to bring development to the doorsteps of the people.

He explained that the projects, which include a Community/Group Development Plan, are expected to benefit 200,000 people.

According to the Agency’s work plan, the Community Development Plan is scheduled to be fully implemented and operational by September 2024.

The General Manager urged the Community Implementation Committees to adhere to project specifications, warning that the agency would sanction and blacklist any defaulters.

He also commended the current administration for providing the necessary funds for NG CARES, which has allowed for uninterrupted project implementation.

He assured that all ongoing projects across the state would be completed on time and ready for commissioning.
