Group calls for arrest of suspected thugs stationed in Cross River hotels

Due to fears of severe election violence, in Cross River state, the National Youth for Good Governance (NYGG), have called on the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba to arrest some individuals marked as anti democratic elements in the state.

The group is raising the alarm following suspicions that some political thugs have been imported into some parts of Cross River state to cause violence during the period of the elections by politicians.

According to the group, the thugs are stationed in some hotels in the state.

“A large number of hoodlums acting and parading themselves falsely as police officers have also been recruited and imported into the state by”, some politicians.

The group further raised the alarm that, there is importation of “deadly weapons of various caliber with ten fully loaded buses of hired thugs onto Cross River state.”

The group through it’s state coordinator comrade Sammuel Effiom, warned that, “Politicians at all levels must know that their ambitions is not worth the life of any Nigerian.

“The NYGG will continue to work with relevant authorities to expose politicians across all divides who want to destabilise the state for their selfish ambitions.”
