The Ibolo Chamber of Commerce, Mines, Industry and Agriculture (ICCIMA) has held its first council meeting at Olora’s Palace, Ijagbo, Kwara State.
The meeting was held on Saturday 5th June, 2021 and the ICCIMA aims and objectives is to promote economic development activities, commerce, collaboration and interactions among members and also to support trade activities, educate and provides access to instruments that will further promote the interest of its members.
The President of ICCIMA, Mr. Paul Olagunju while Discussing the rationale behind the formation of ICCIMA, said the ICCIMA was born by Ibolo peace parley which is the umbrella body of the communities within Oyun/Offa Local Government areas of Kwara State. He added that as the country is groaning under immense unemployment, declining Gross Domestic Products and for the nation to achieve the SDG goal of moving 100 million Nigerians from poverty, the ICCIMA would support trade promotions and open access to larger commerce that would benefit its members.
Mr. President therefore urges corporate entities, enterprise, individuals, governmental and non governmental agencies to join ICCIMA to bring prosperity to Ibolo land and Kwara State at large.
Olora of Ijagbo in his remarks acknowledged the council and executive members of ICCIMA for deeming it necessary to organize first inaugural meeting in Ijagbo which he described as gateway to Ibolo land.
Olora of Ijagbo noted that commerce should not be taken with levity in Nigeria as it moves people out of poverty and a means of coming together to brainstorm on how to be self reliance and create a workable society.
The President, Kwara State Chamber of commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, Dr. Hammed Raji enunciated on the idea of bringing communities in Ibolo together. He said the idea is to enhance peace through economic provisions and to build businesses and youths for future development.
He added that the chamber of commerce are the huge employment providers in the world and its primary assignment to move people out of poverty through infrastructure, industrialization must be implemented.
He congratulated the ICCIMA for the success of its inaugural meeting and pledged his continuous support at all time to move the chamber forward.
