Nationnewslead reports that Iloko-Ijesa in Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State is set to mark this year’s New Yam Festival on Saturday.
This was confirmed by one of Owaloko of Iloko-Ijesa Chiefs who is the chief host and Chairman of the yam festival.
According to the Chief, the event is an annual festival for Iloko-Ijesa Sons and Daughters to come together “to thank God for the gift of life, protection, and provision for Iloko-Ijesa People despite challenges.”
He also said it is the period for Iloko-Ijesa Sons and Daughters to engage themselves in discussions and bring suggestions for the progress of all Iloko-Ijesa people in general and to showcase Iloko cultural heritage such as cultural dance, different dance groups, and the creative abilities of Iloko-Ijesa people, and to honor some Iloko-Ijesa sons and daughters, who have distinguished themselves in their various fields.
