Nigerian music star 2Baba has broken his silence over his mother’s viral claims that he was kidnapped, responding with humour during a recent performance.
The buzz began after his family members, including his mother, Rose Idibia, raised concerns about his whereabouts—particularly as his ongoing divorce from actress Annie Idibia continues to make headlines.

In a viral video, Rose claimed her son was missing and hinted that he may be under the control of his new partner, Natasha Osawaru, a lawmaker from Edo State.

She tearfully appealed to Natasha to “free her son,” suggesting he was being held against his will or manipulated in some way.
But rather than fuel the drama, 2Baba chose to laugh it off. While performing at the Acapella comedy show on Sunday, he jokingly addressed the allegations.
“Allegedly, I’ve been missing. Allegedly, I’ve been kidnapped,” he said, smiling. “So, this show is actually to generate money for the kidnappers to release me.”
The playful jab sparked laughter from the crowd, and his tone made it clear he wasn’t taking the claims too seriously—though the rumours had caused quite a stir online.
Despite the humour, the situation highlights the tension surrounding 2Baba’s personal life, especially with his divorce and new relationship constantly in the public eye.
