The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Niger State Command, has decorated more than half of its workforce with new rank badges.
This follows the release of the 2024 promotion examination results by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board and the Service Headquarters for senior and junior officers of the service.
A total of 413 officers, comprising 132 senior officers and 281 other ranks, were decorated in grand style.
The Zonal Coordinator of Zone ‘D’ Headquarters in Minna, ACG N. Odikpo, pcc, led the decoration, assisted by the Command Comptroller, M.S. Ya’u, pcc, representatives of heads of security agencies, and members of the Command’s management team.
The Command PRO, Mukhtar Abubakar, who was promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Immigration, was among the officers decorated at the event.
In her goodwill message, the Zonal Coordinator, ACG N. Odikpo, pcc, expressed appreciation to the Honourable Minister of Interior and the Comptroller-General, Kemi Nanna Nandap, pcc, for facilitating the promotion.

She acknowledged the role played by the Command Comptroller, M.S. Ya’u, pcc, in achieving this significant accomplishment.
She further encouraged the promoted officers to give their best to move the service forward.
For his part, Comptroller M.S. Ya’u, pcc, applauded the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the Honourable Minister of Interior, and the Comptroller-General of Immigration Service, Kemi Nanna Nandap, pcc, for making the promotion a reality.
He congratulated the promoted officers and urged them to be more dedicated to their duties.
Other dignitaries at the event included the Commander of the NSCDC Niger State Command, a representative of the Controller of Corrections in Niger State Command, the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, and several others.
Delivering the vote of thanks on behalf of the celebrants, DCI E.O. Eche thanked everyone in attendance for taking the time to grace the occasion and wished them a safe journey back to their various destinations.
