The Alubarika Movement in Ijesha South federal constituency felicitates with all our women in all communities within and outside Osun state on the celebration of International Women’s Day 2025.

In a statement issued this morning by the zonal coordinator of the movement, Hon. Folarin Fafowora. It reads, “Today, we join the global community in celebrating International Women’s Day, an occasion to honour the strength, resilience, and invaluable contributions of women in our society. Women have been the backbone of families, the driving force of communities, and pivotal in shaping our nation’s progress.”

Fafowora who was a two-term former legislator in Osun state explained that from the home to the marketplace, the classroom to the political arena, women have consistently demonstrated leadership, courage, and innovation in the face of significant challenges. It is only fitting that on this special day, we acknowledge and commend their dedication, sacrifices, and unwavering commitment to building a better world.

The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day – “Accelerate Actions”, underscores the urgent need to create a more inclusive and equitable society where women’s voices are heard, and their contributions are valued.

Our principal, Senator Ajibola Basiru is deeply committed to this cause, and as a key supporter of the Alubarika Movement, I reaffirm his dedication to supporting policies and initiatives that would uplift and empower women to thrive. In Osun State and beyond, our women, whether in small scale businesses, education, politics, health, agriculture, manufacturing, or other sectors, deserve access to government and private opportunities that will help them succeed. We assure every woman that support is on the way under the soon-to-be-formed Alubarika government in Osun by 2026.

The former Ilesa West Central LCDA boss said, “We have started developing policies and actionable working documents towards creating an Osun state where women are recognized and actively supported in their pursuits. Our women entrepreneurs will be recognized, and we shall pay glowing tribute to all our female teachers for their dedication to shaping future generations.

Our women in politics are people of Alubarika, and we shall continue to applaud their courage in breaking barriers and advocating for positive change. The women roles are indispensable. The Alubarika movement is totally committed to ensuring that every decision we make considers the interests and wellbeing of the women of Osun State and Nigeria at large.

As we commemorate this important day in Ilesa West, Ilesa East, Atakumosa West and Atakumosa East local government areas, we look forward to deeper engagements with women across different sectors to better understand their needs and challenges. This is a celebration and a call to action for continuous advocacy, support, and policies that will drive gender equality and women’s empowerment. Happy International Women’s Day 2025, the statement concluded.
