The Owaloko of Iloko-Ijesa, Oba Akeem Olusayo Ogungbangbe, Ajagbusi Ekun VI, Ilufemiloba 1, was presented a staff of office by the Osun State government amidst jubilations. The people of the town trooped out in large number to the venue of the occasion at the premises of Osowusi Muslim Commercial High School, along Iwaraja road to witness the event.
Markets and shops were closed to honour the new monarch. The state governor, His Excellency Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola, at an official coronation ceremony attended by Osun former governor, Baba bisi akande, former deputy governor, Sen. Iyiola Omisore, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, chairman of planning committee, kayode adedire and other dignitaries, advised Oba Akeem to work with other traditional rulers to ensure peace in the state.
Other dignitaries in attendance at the event include the Osun house of assembly speaker, Hon. Rtr. Timothy Owoeye, Hon. Famurewa, the Owa Obokun of Ijeshaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Adburasheed Akanbi Telu 1, the Elegboro of Ijebu-Ijesa, Oba Moses Olufemi Agunsoye, Oniwoye of Iwoye-Ijesa kingdom Oba Adewumi Ogidiolu otokobo II, the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Bola Oyebamiji, and Senator Fadahunsi
Others are Oriade local government chairman, Hon. Bunmi Obeisun, Hon. Aloba, Hon. Seun Odofin. The governor congratulated the people of Iloko-Ijesa after the presentation of the staff of office to Oba Akeem, and enjoined the people to support the monarch for the town to experience growth.
Responding, Oba Akeem, expressed gratitude to God, Governor Oyetola? and the people of Iloko-Ijesa, assuring them that he would not let them down.
