The Executive Secretary of the Kogi State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has praised the proactive steps taken by Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, which led to the rescue of the kidnapped students of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH) hours after his visit.
In a statement personally signed by him, the Executive Secretary said the assurance given to parents, the university management, and the public serves as a morale booster, reinforcing their confidence in the government’s capacity to come to their aid in this critical moment.
He noted that the quick response of the Governor boosted the morale of conventional security agents, local vigilante men, and local hunters who engaged the kidnappers in the forest where the victims were kept.
The abducted students of Confluence University of Science and Technology regained their freedom from captivity hours after the security-conscious Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, visited the institution to assure the public and institution management of his commitment to rescuing the students.

The quick response of the Kogi State Government boosted the morale of conventional security agents, local vigilante men, and local hunters who engaged the kidnappers in the forest where the victims were kept.
The kidnappers succumbed to firepower and had no option but to leave the kidnapped students behind.
The security agents have taken over the forest using centrifugal force to ensure the safety of all kidnapped students.
The state, which shares boundaries with ten states, had never experienced this act in the past eight years, and the current administration has practically demonstrated that the security architecture policy championed by former Governor His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello, which the current Governor is consolidating, maintains zero tolerance for criminals and criminality in the state.
Furthermore, on the directive of His Excellency, the Executive Governor Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, the abducted students who were rescued have been taken to a facility outreach for medical attention.
The SEMA Boss urged all concerned citizens to be law-abiding and assist the government with useful and prompt information on suspicious movements in their communities that could lead to criminal activities.
