The Lagos State Government has charged the female accountants in the country to rise to the challenges of financial mismanagement, recklessness and wastes in public services to save the nation’s economy from collapse.

The Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of Finance, Yemi Ayoola, stated this during a courtesy visit of the Society of Women Accountants of Nigeria to the state secretariat in Ikeja.
Ayoola noted that female accountants in the country had a role to play in bringing back sanity, transparency, due process and financial discipline to the nation’s public service for sustainable growth of the nation’s economy
She said, “There is the need for women accountants across the federation to use their innate talents as mothers, as well as the ethics of their profession, to effect positive changes necessary for ethical rebirth and financial discipline in public service across the country.
“Let me express my happiness as a senior member of SWAN to your various contributions to the growth of our society; your association, despite being a non-profit-making, has done a lot in assisting the underprivileged, as well as standing against all forms of abuses against women.”
The National President of SWAN, Felicia Bamigbose said the visit was aimed at identifying with the success made by the permanent secretary as one of their members.
