FOR embarking on unauthorised building activities, the Lagos State Government has issued a stop-work order to a real estate developer in Lekki region of the metropolis.
The Commissioner, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, who shared photos of the buildings on his X handle, make this known.
According to him, authorities from the Drainage Enforcement and Compliance Department of the Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources have issued a cease-work directive to a developer located along System 156, behind Victoria Crest Estate II in the Lekki region of the state.
The directive was issued due to the developer’s unauthorised activities, including illegal sand filling of the channel which was carried out without obtaining the necessary approval from the state authorities.
Tokunbo Wahab, wrote: “Operatives of Drainage Enforcement and Compliance dept from the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources on Thursday (30/11/2023) issued a Stop Work Order to a developer along System 156 behind Victoria Crest Estate II in Lekki for illegally sandfilling the channel and carrying out reclamation work without any approval from the state.”
