The 1994 set of the Marketing Department at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) in Abeokuta has made a significant contribution to the institution by donating a building valued at N150 million, named “Marketing Legacy House.”

This initiative reflects their commitment to enhancing the educational system and supporting human capital development.

Adeyanju Adelakun, the President of the 1994 set, highlighted that the facility includes ten lecturers’ offices, the Head of Department’s office with a secretary and cabinets, a modern library, a marketing laboratory, a conference room, and four storage areas.

He emphasized that this gesture aligns with Governor Dapo Abiodun’s mission to transform the educational sector in Ogun State.

Adelakun stated, “Our support for the Department of Marketing, and the institution at large, goes beyond donating this facility. It demonstrates our firm commitment to contributing towards human capital development.”

Ogun State’s Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Abayomi Arigbagbu, expressed gratitude to the alumni for their generous contribution.

He emphasized that government funding alone cannot meet all the needs of educational institutions and urged more alumni to support their alma mater.

He underscored the vital role of alumni associations as stakeholders in education, noting, “Alumni associations usually give back to their institutions, but it is uncommon for a set to donate an edifice of this nature. It is highly commendable.”

Dr. Adeoye Odedeji, the Rector of MAPOLY, praised the 1994 Marketing Set for their unprecedented donation, marking it as the first of its kind from any set or alumni association in the institution’s history.

He remarked, “This is unique because it is donated by a set and not the entire department. As I approach the end of my five-year tenure as rector in December, this is a parting gift. I appreciate it.”
