The Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Ali Mohammed Ali, commended the Theatre Command for its efforts in restoring peace and security in the North-East region.
During a visit to the Command at Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri on Monday, the MD praised the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, and the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, for supporting the Theatre Command’s kinetic and non-kinetic approaches against Boko Haram insurgency in the region.
The MD also commended the Command’s efforts in reintegrating civilians into their ancestral homes. He expressed sympathy for the people affected by recent flooding in Maiduguri and its environs, lauding the Command’s sacrifices in saving lives during the disaster.

“We are here to commiserate with the people and acknowledge the Theatre Command’s efforts in keeping the region safe,” he said.
Reiterating NAN’s commitment to unbiased reporting, the MD said: “NAN will continue to support the Theatre Command’s efforts.”
Speaking on behalf of the Theatre Command, Major General Wahdi Shuaibu, Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, commended media organizations for their support in the fight against insurgency.
Brigadier General Shuaibu acknowledged media outlets for promoting corrective narratives, countering misinformation, and fostering national unity.
“We appreciate everyone’s essential intelligence contributions and the excellent civil-military relationship,” he said.
“Your efforts to provide accurate information, especially on social media, have been invaluable,” he noted.
“I commend your commitment to ensuring normalcy returns to our nation,” General Shuaibu said.
He expressed gratitude for the public’s cooperation, adding, “We count on you to continue supporting our efforts in the fight against insurgency.”
