The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Lafia, Nasarawa State capital has declared the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr David Ombugadu as the winner of the March 18 governorship election in the State.
Ombugadu had dragged INEC and Abdullahi Sule to the petition tribunal challenging his announcement as governor. He urged the tribunal to announce him (Ombugadu) as the winner of the election.
Delivering the verdict virtually, the chairman of the tribunal, Justice Ezekiel Ajayi said the first, second and third respondents faired to prove their defense.
The tribunal ordered that the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, should retrieve the certificate of return from Sule and and issue another one to Dr. Ombugadu.
