The Society for Family Health (SFH), in collaboration with the Taraba State Government, has trained 116 field staff to enhance the delivery of quality health services for children, adolescents, pregnant women, and lactating mothers in the state.

The training, held over a week, focused on building capacity for improved HIV services. Dr. Omokhudu Idogho, Managing Director of SFH, represented by Programme Director Ms. Aisha Dadi, emphasized the initiative’s goal of ensuring adequate HIV services for vulnerable groups.

“The field staff are tasked with identifying, testing, and linking children, adolescents, pregnant, and lactating mothers to essential HIV services,” Dadi explained during the workshop.

The project, Lafiyan Yara and Paediatric, aims to deliver quality health services and contribute to ending HIV by 2030. Participants were drawn from 15 local government areas in Taraba State.

Ms. Dadi encouraged participants to remain committed to delivering quality services, especially as Nigeria intensifies efforts to close paediatric HIV gaps and achieve Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT) and Elimination of Mother-to-Child Transmission (eMTCT) by 2030.
