The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) on Sunday, said it has settled the lingering rift between the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association, (PENGASSAN) and Management of Total Energies.
Members of PENGASSAN had last Wednesday, stormed Total Energies premises in Port Harcourt in a peaceful protest over alleged anti-labour practices.
Rivers State TUC Chairman, Ikechukwu Onyefurum, expressed sadness that the company allegedly violated the Collective Bargaining Agreement labour entered with it.
He stated, “Total has decided to continue championing anti-labour practices. Total has decided to remain on the path of unfair labour practice that is not known in any book.”
But in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja, the NNPC Spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye said it has been able to broker peace among the parties involved.
On this premise, it said 275, 000 barrels of oil per day production has been restored.
