The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has responded strongly to allegations made by APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, regarding internal divisions within the party.
Speaking during an interview with news men on Wednesday, the NNPP’s National Publicity Secretary, Ladipo Johnson, dismissed Ganduje’s comments and questioned his understanding of political terms.
“Well, the first thing I say is that Ganduje’s words are inconsequential,” Johnson said.

He went on to challenge Ganduje’s use of the term ‘factions’, insisting the NNPP is united and has no splinter groups.
“Two, Ganduje needs to go and open the dictionary and learn the meaning of the word ‘factions’, or ‘faction’, or ‘factionalised’. He really needs to go and learn it. We don’t have a faction, we don’t have factions within the NNPP.”
Ganduje had earlier claimed that the NNPP is dealing with “serious lacerations due to an intractable and untreatable factionalization,” but Johnson refuted this, explaining that only expelled individuals still using outdated materials are trying to mislead the public and courts.
“You have some people who are expelled, who carry the logo, an old logo that has been changed. The logo is not before INEC. INEC is clear as to who, or which person, or who the national chairman of the NNPP is.”
He added that these individuals obtained a default judgment in Abia State using misleading information and an old constitution.
Johnson emphasised that the NNPP is complying with the ruling for now but has filed a motion to overturn it.
Ending on a strong note, Johnson said: “For me, Ganduje is a non-starter.”
