A major milestone was recorded in Imo State over the weekend as Barrister Chioma Nwaeze, the Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Community Engagement (South East), inaugurated Local Government and Ward-level Community Engagement and Empowerment Officers. The initiative aims to drive President Tinubu’s grassroots empowerment agenda and ensure direct engagement with local communities.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Barrister Nwaeze highlighted the importance of grassroots mobilization and empowerment as critical tools for sustainable development. She emphasized that the officers would serve as the president’s ambassadors, spreading his developmental initiatives and fostering cooperative societies within their respective communities for effective empowerment and identification.
Hon. Uzoka, who also addressed the newly inaugurated officers, urged them to actively disseminate information about the president’s empowerment programs and ensure that the grassroots fully benefit from the administration’s initiatives. He stressed the need for the officers to work closely with local stakeholders to foster community growth and development.
In response, Comrade Mike Christian, speaking on behalf of the newly inaugurated officers, expressed gratitude to the president and Barrister Nwaeze for the empowerment initiative. He assured the delegation of their commitment to spreading the president’s message and fostering development across Imo State. “Tell Mr. President that it is only Tinubu we know, come 2027. There is no vacancy in the Villa,” Christian declared, reaffirming their support for President Tinubu’s administration and re-election bid.
The event was described as a groundbreaking moment for Imo State, with participants expressing enthusiasm and readiness to contribute meaningfully to national development. Community leaders present praised the federal government’s efforts in bringing empowerment to the grassroots, emphasizing that it would strengthen local economies and improve livelihoods.
Barrister Nwaeze assured the community that the initiative was just the beginning, as the federal government remains committed to fostering inclusive development and ensuring that no community is left behind in its transformation agenda.
